I just read the frontpage post about the Lenovo Y410 using its webcam for facial recognition log in into Windows Vista. Anyone know anything about this software or if it's compatible with ThinkPad line notebooks?
-
-
that sounds really appealing, the Y410 looks sexy too.
idk about veriface on thinkpad though. -
There's also a program called banana security that has a program out like this
Where can we download veriface? googling it doesn't yield any results -
I cannot find any place where i could download it on the web. This is odd. there is absolutely no mention of this software other than on product descriptions for the Y410
-
Where to get veriface software for think pad ?
-
From someone having a Y410.
-
veriface can't be such a limited software...there must be a place to download it somewhere
-
If Somebody Have It Then/how To Download?
-
Im hosting the veriface software. Its only one file. LINK
You're welcome and enjoy! -
I am searching for it and can't find anything -
-
Anyone tried this yet? work well?
-
im in the midst of doing it right now..ill let you guys know how it works out
-
Guys..it works like a charm! Just tried it.....it also comes with this program called password keeper....I am just trying to decide if I want to use that...or the thinkvantage password manager that I already have installed via client security system
-
I downloaded the software and it works fine on my ThinkPad Z1t . But there are a lot of limitations like you dont have to put glasses, or re-enroll if you have changed in appearance. It works, but can be said to be a slow way of logging in than the fingerprint reader or even a regular password typing user.
It did not allow me to login even if there is a change in the distance between your face and the camera on the laptop. Thanks to onion for posting the link. -
i believe it caused my first BSOD in 3 weeks..perhaps it not fully compatible with t61's
-
How often do you have BSOD eyecon? I havent had in 3 - 4 months of owning the T61

any updates ?
-
Thanks for the link!!
I downloaded veriface. I tried on two laptops both Lenovo 3000 N100 one has Windows Vista (no finger print scanner) and the other Windows XP (with fingerprint scanner). It works gr8 on the Vista (without fingerprint scanner) one but, when I try to install it on the XP (with fingerprint scanner) one, it doesn't install and gives me a msg "Designed for Lenovo only".
Both the laptops are Lenovo, same model Lenovo 3000 N100.
Is there anything I can try to make it work on the other one too..
Thanks,
Pradeep -
Wow It works fine with my T61!!
But why did "onion" get banned? -
-
its woks fine on the t61 with vista. just after sleep you have to log on manually swipe finger or password as the green light turns on, but the image freezes.
Im just worried will this burn out my web camera for leaving it on to much? -
-
won't happen
i got a bsod a few hours after installing this software..and i removed it and no bsod's since...so maybe it's not really designed for the t61 -
anyone know where the log record images are stored on the hard disc?
-
I had tried resuming from sleep mode without BSOD
btw i'm worry about burn out my cam tho
It should have select to use on welcome screen, what you think? -
Does anyone know where the log is stored?
I have a Y410 and have checked all of the veriface program files, but had no success..
PLEASE HELP ASAP -
Why is this face recognition software only good for Lenovo and not other brands of computers?
-
I just thought of something, could you take a picture of the person that the VeriFace is assigned to, turn the computer on, and have it scan the picture of that person?
Yay loopholes! -
hello
I have Lenovo 3000 N100 series lenovo notebook (model- 07684KA).
Whenever i double click the installer, I recieve an error that it is made for Lenovo systems only. Can anyone please decompress the Installshield file using Universal extractor and put it in zip/rar and post it?
Please guys i am a newbie and in desparate need of this software -
From what I can gather, if you put it at the highest security settings, it'll only pick up on your face in the same lighting and position as you set it. Good news is that it won't really pick up on pictures, but I have yet to try a larger one. It's got a few neat features such as it'll peroidically check to make sure that you're at the laptop, and if someone/no one is there, it'll lock itself. You can also encrypt files using it, but so far I've only seen that options on .zip and .exe, but I haven't really had time to mess with it.

When installing VeriFace message appears on Lenovo ThinkPad T61p - is Designed only for Company Lenovo. The Installation soft does not go. And that to do? Can someone has no packet installation EXE, but RAR or ZIP compiling. Can VeriFace is not intended for ThinkPad T61p?

I installed this software in my Acer desktop and there was no problem at all.
Hope this help. -
I downloaded the one that onion posted, and it installed fine..now my problems is---when It gets to the screen in set up where it requires you to enter your computer's password, mine doesn't work..it keeps telling me its wrong! No matter what I do, it keeps saying that. Any suggestions?

Anyone use this on a computer that is part of a domain. I ran into an error that it could not find my account on the computer.

Has anyone had any luck on a non-lenovo laptop?
-
This software came on a Lenovo CD with my Y310a, at first I thought it was pretty cool when I saw it at the shop, but in the end I didn't even install it on my own machine.
I guess the old saying is right, the grass is always greener on the other side... :twitcy: -
Veriface does work on certain non-lenovo laptops. Does anyone have the latest version of Veriface ? I believe it's 2.0
Toshiba has a Face Login, which looks very nice and Asus has Smart Logon which looks sweet.
VERIFACE 2.0 OR THE LATEST version anyone? -
-
is it possible to install this on a desktop and use it?>
-
There are other software that you can try I'm sure. -
I uninstall program and no BSOD's -
Any idea why? If its just that it needs to be a Lenovo product it woulndn't hurt me to change a little registry to make it work.
And ofcourse if any body has any good software suggestions that work on vista. please share.
Thank you
