I detect a drag queen or a troll.

    I have an Hp dv1000 (going for a R61!)
What I have done, everyday, for the past 2 and 1/2 years, is that when your laptop ship, you get, when you open the lid, something that keep the screen off the keyboard.

Well, I have kept that for more than 2 years - and no scratches on my screen :) (cheap way to keep it good!)

Never had to use a cloth to clean the screen - My laptop is the same as the first day I had it :)

Thats a good idea, keeping that foam/lint cloth that comes with the computer the day you open it from the box, never thought of that. Who wudda thunk :) I usually get a lint free cloth and wipe mine down every now and then.

re: the protection for the screen/keyboard.

Is there anything that one can buy to protect the screen from the keyboard (ie the trackpad, the space bar).

I know I can put a piece of cloth, and I currently use a 2 year old keyboard protector that came with my HP dv100 (just the thing they put on the keyboard when it shipped :)

Just wondering is anyone uses a full keyboard (+ palmrest) kinda skin or else (for around 6-8 $) <-- ie that can last :)
