    Hi guys,

I think i might have a serious issue with my video card. Whenever I'm doing something gpu related which is taxing, I get a hard crash with all kinds of weird green and black rectangles on my screen (how can I upload an image?). The weird thing is I've had this crash in xp, vista, win7, linux and with lots of different drivers.

Do I have a broken GPU?

seems like a GPU issue if its artifacting like that.

might be that the GPU is bad, overheating or some other issue.

take a screnshot (PRTSC button on keyboard) and past it into paint, and save it, then upload to tinypic.com or any other host. :)

Whats wrong with having their Field Service take a look at it?

OP is probably trying to self diagnosis first.

OP: do you have any of the BSOD errors? And whats the temp like as vert mentioned?

And I assume you're using the stock drivers from lenovo?

Wasn't able to make a printscreen as the computer was frozen, but a camera picture works just as well.

I've tried calling with Lenovo before, but what it came down to was them telling me it was a software issue and giving me a diagnostic program to run. Not the most helpful people...

I havent had BSOD's for almost a year, and im using lenovo drivers.

Here's one thing that might help. I play a fair bit of WC3, and it always froze during games. I then changed to opengl and it suddenly didnt crash. 1024x768/directx crashes, and 1400x1050/opengl crashes, but 1024x768/opengl doesnt. Isnt this a little strange?

I'd recommend that this be taken up under field service. You can diagnose all you want...then comes time to fix the machine.
