I recently purchased a T61p with windows vista ultimate and am having problems with the video. When I'm playing games on the machine, often the screen goes black for a few seconds and then turns back on. This is sometimes followed by a blue screen of death a few min later saying hardware error. When the screen flickers I get a warning in my task bar saying video driver stopped responding, and then shortly after it says video driver restored. Windows says the problem is the nvidia driver. I tried the stock driver and sever drivers from laptop2go and have the same problem with them all. Is my machine overheating? Any help would be appreciated as I have never come across this problem before.

Sometimes, when you're playing video games, the DLA feature of the CD/DVD reader causes BSOD's. Try to disable that before you play. It's rarely used anyways. Right click on your optical drive and click over to the DLA tab.
