Does the X100e support virtualization? There's a trend lately of computer manufacturers disabling virtualization in BIOS (why...?) Anyway, just wondering if the AMD-powered X100(e) laptops have virtualization allowed by the BIOS, and if anyone has gotten something like Virtualbox with Linux x64 running on such a machine.

I got virtualbox running on my X100e,I mainly used it to mess around with tweaking XP installations for work, but ive also booted up the ubuntu .iso as well.

Neither one of those were x64,but I dont see where it would make a difference

There's differences between virtualizing x86 and x86-64 guests (something to do with addressing and 'long mode' in x86-64 CPUs). I know that I can virtualize a x86-64 guest on my Gateway LT31 netbook, but not x64.

If you're talking about Type1 hypervisors then it's probably OK as long as your choice of HV does not require DirectIO...

I've got 6GB of ram in my X100e.

    I Dual boot Windows 7 x64 Pro and Windows Server 2008 R2.

In Windows 7 I run VMware Workstation and have some VM's, including some x64 VM's.

My Windows Server 2008 R2 is setup as a 'boot from VHD' and in there I run Hyper-V and have a Windows 2008 R2 Guest also.

    Works very well actually.

    Enjoy.

Oh and I have two X100e's actually. An older NV-40 model and an L625 X2. I did all of this on my NV-40 model before upgrading to the dual core L625 X2 model (just moved the HD).
