I am trying to either run a current XP install virutally in Vista or I would like to boot from a virtual machine to give it full resources. Has anyone got this to work?

Well what virtual software you useing

Most them have software convert real machine to virtaul

They two parrts to what need do one convert you Realy hard disk data to virtual disk

then you need do repair virtual machine so it has the drivers for you virtual machine emlatored hardware

your also need to acvattied you virtaul machine winch you have read elua and figure out legal isssues they winch not go into

what mean full resources depnd virtaul machine software you use

you won,nt have acess cert things

if you expect full 3d acess to virtaul machine stuff like that you won,nt realy find that

i guess guestion what software do you run any virtual machines?

I'm running an XP SP3 vm on Vista Business and it works great using VirtualBox...it's open source and with better usb 2.0 support than vmware or virtualpc...

    http://www.virtualbox.org/

if you're familiar with vmware, virtualbox will be a breeze to set up...it is well documented and i'm able to virtualize all drivers for video, sound, and network...hope that helps.
