Hey, wondering if someone can help:

I did a clean install of vista, upgrading my 32-bit to 64-bit. My WinExperience rating is 4.0, but I cannot run Aero - it's not in the presonalization list for selection in the Windows color and appearance tab. Is this a driver problem with my nVidia card? Did I do something wrong with my install? Any help is appreciated!

Is it Vista Home Basic or Vista Home Premium?

Vista Home Basic doesnt have Aero. Maybe you installed that.

Premium. And I fixed it with a reinstall of the driver and a restart. But, I don't know why it shut off. It's rather curious to me.

    Ok, good. :)

Sometimes, if you start a program that is incompatable with Aero features, it will switch to Basic and turn of Aero. I had to do the same thing as you when it happened to me... I forgot about that...

Does Intervideo do this? I can't think of the program that is causing it to happen. I have office ultimate and intervideo and that's about it after the clean install.

When you start it up, check to see if the screen flashes a little and a popup should display also telling you. I dont know myself, but start it and see if it happened again and if there is a popup.
