Shouldn't Lenovo provide you with a copy of the 64bit media if you order Vista Ultimate?
If you buy it in a store, you get both the 32-bit and 64-bit DVDs in the package.
Just got off the phone with Lenovo and they weren't very helpful.![]()

Frankly, Lenovo Sales people didn't help me much as well. A while back while looking for laptops, I saw on their webpage the "Thinkpad + Linux" site, thinking I could order one with Linux. Turns out it was nothing and sales people didn't give me an explaination why I couldn't buy it.

Thats why I went with business 64. If I decide I want to go to Ultimate -> I believe I just need the media and key and it should not impact any installed applications settings. I was specifically worried about installing apps that worked on 32 bit but failed in the 64 bit upgrade. (I'm not sure I believe that myself
). Anyway, I also ordered the SATA drive bay -> one of the aplpications will be to image the drive before hand as well as moving bulk data around my systems etc.

If you mean that you can get an Ultimate 64 disc and use the key that you got with your machine(i.e. the Vista Business key), then you are mistaken. The Key that you bought with your machine will allow you to install Business 32 or 64 bit only. -
They don't give out discs. It's been this way for quite some time, long before Lenovo took over. Very few manufacturers hand out discs anymore.
