I have my power options set to adjust my display brightness to 30% when running on battery. If I unplug my laptop, it will adjust the brightness level accordingly. However, if I remain in battery mode and reboot/shutdown my computer, after it reaches the desktop it will set the screen brightness to 100%... Strangely, while on battery, after a reboot, the brightness will be at 30% during the login screen. It doesnt adjust it until it loads the desktop. WTf. This makes me think it is not applying the other power options such as wireless power management.
Is this happening to anyone else?

Nope. Working fine for me.

With my T60 vista has repeatedly set my power options and other options back to a default state on its own or from some other entity. Very annoying. I am glad I dual boot with linux and only boot vista when necessary. Everything works great with linux. I actually feel like I got my money's worth for the laptop when I am booted into linux.

I installed lenovo's own power manager from the thinkvantage update utility and now it applies the brightness setting properly. Well, almost. If i am running on the battery and reboot, it will boot up to the desktop, briefly set the screen to 100% brightness, and then change it back to 30%. It just seems strange that it would be at 30% while at the login screen and then change it when it loads the desktop. Also, why do i need lenovo's special program to do this...?
Vista is disobeying a direct order!
