Hi, I received my computer today. The system properties report 998 MB of ram, when it should 1024. Only 26 MB, but I'm curious why.

I have an integrated card, but 26 seems like too little for it to be using.

I have 2048MB of RAM but Vista only shows 2006MB. 42MB is being used for Intel X3100 integrated graphics. I think you're fine.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I just wasn't sure if what the system reported was going to exclude the total used by the X3100.

Still weird how both your X3100's are using different amounts of RAM.

The integrated card adjusts its ram usage depending on the applications used and total amount of ram.

Something weird I noticed. I opened up the X3100 Driver Settings and saw that the graphics memory in use was 134 MB. It says Physical Memory available is 997. However, I then turned on Aero and the graphics memory in use raised to 176 MB. I don't think my 26 MB has anything to do it with the X3100.
