This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Could one of you Vista users please do me a favour and check some regsitry keys? Please use RegMon from Sysinternals or a similar tool, start logging and then install the Thinkpad USB wakeup regstry patch, which i available for different thinkpads, and maybe some of yours too. Then post the log here.

    I've installed Win 7 on my X41 tablet and every now and then the fingerprint reader stops working after resuming from standby. I think this patch will help, but it can't be installed on Win 7, so I'd just create a .reg file which could be useful for others as well.
