I received my T61 a few weeks ago with a bag of about 7 or 8 cds in the box. It was installed with Vista Ultimate (32 bit), but for some reason it seems as if these cds are for an XP Pro recovery. In addition, the specs online (through the parts lookup activex ) note that : WINDOWS XP PRO RECOVERY DISC YES. Were these received in error, or am I supposed to get XP cds along with my Vista laptop?

Also, I have been browsing these forums for the last month or two and wanted to give you all a huge "THANK YOU" for all your valuable information and recommendations. This forum, well Notebook Review as a whole, made me decide to order the T61 instead of a Vaio SZ, and I could not be happier. Thanks again!! I look forward to finally being able to participate here.

If you bought your ThinkPad with Vista Ultimate or Business, you're entitled to a XP Pro license as well. This allows you to downgrade to XP if you don't like using Vista.
