For no apparent reason, my volume control bar controlled by the buttons on my T410 stopped showing up in windows. It works either way, but the actual bar is only present if everything is minimized, and my desktop is showing - otherwise, nothing.

Are there any steps I can take to fix this?

Yes, my T61 has been doing this for the past several months now. If a window is open, the volume bar will not display. If your on the desktop, it will.

Now I have to go hunt down the correct driver for my T61 :)
