    Hello,

I just received my W500, and noticed before I put the battery in, there is a clear plastic tab in the battery bay with an arrow - you pull it and a little SIM-sized/shaped piece of cardboard comes out - are you supposed to pull it out before powering up the system?

    Thanks,

    Jason

It should be in the manual...and you don't want to carry a piece of catdboard with your shinny thinkpad anyway :D

Keep it in the slot. It is a blank protective card to keep dust and debris out of the WWAN SIM card reader.
