Does anyone have any idea about the W500's 3DMark06 score?

    Even better question, who cares?

When the HD2900XT was smoking the 8800GTX in 3dmark06 I realized that it was a useless benchmark.

Yeah, but it depends on which settings and who did the test. Some other results around the web show otherwise.

4693 in 3DMark06 according to the Chech review. Don't know what resolution he used though.

Default resolution more likely, as I said before, FireGL V5700 is only slightly better than the current quadro FX 570m.

Lets see some GPU-Z screen shot comparisons.

    Back on subject.

    Maby 5,000 on 3dMark06?

I'd like to know what Lenovo did to tweak the W500 GPU as well.

Default is from what I know 1280x1024. But for example, Kevin used 1280x800for his T500 3DMark06 test when he got around 4300 marks for the ATI 3650. So one always have to keep an eye on what resolution was used (and possibly cpu).

    No, default is 1280x800.

Not on everything. Default changes depending on max resolution. On the T500 when it first loads up it is set to 1280x1024. On the T400 it loads up at 1280x800.

    It's 1280x800 for the W500, I think.

Default 3DMark resolution is 1280x1024, but since many laptops screens don't have at least 1024 vertical resolution, it gets changed to 1280x800 if the screen can't support 1280x1024.
The T400 has up to 1440x900 and doesn't have a vertical resolution of at least ****x1024, so 1280x800 is automatically chosen.

The default resolution for 3DMark 2006 is 1280x1024, and that's the resolution that should be used and is used by most people (look around starting from the gaming section), which makes is the best for comparisons.

Of course, there are notebooks that don't support this resolution (< WSXGA+), in this case, you can either use a external display to run the benchmark at the 1280x1024 or you should at least mention the used non-standard resolution, which would make your scores somehow less pointless, but still not very useful.

3DMark numbers without any information about the used resolution are just random garbage, which, of course, isn't useful especially when it comes to new cards with unknown performance.
