Hi everyone,
According to the specs W500 comes with 7-in-1 reader. But I am unable to read anything other than regular SD cards. I have tried SDHC and they dont work, and I don't see a slot for anything else (MemoryStick ?)
What does 7-in-1 actually mean? "Can read 7 differently colored SD cards" ?
Thanks,
Milos

Calling them 7 in 1 is kinda stretching the thruth, it is in reality 5 in 1: Compact Flash I/II, MicroDrive, Secure Digital Card/Multimedia Card, Memory stick, SmartMedia. The last 2 types are miniSD and microSD but those can only be read with a SD adapter....

If you have XP, theres hot fix that will enable compatibility with SDHC cards.

Are you sure the W500 will read CompactFlash? CF cards are much larger than newer flash media cards and have a completely different physical interface (pins vs. slide contacts).
According to Cnet, the 7-in-1 reader is only good for MMC, SDHC, SD, XD, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick and XD-Picture Card Type H. -
I believe you are correct.

Thank you.
And for reference, relevant KBs are KB923293, KB934428 -
no cf. and sdhc works on T400 which also has 7 in 1
W500 7-in-1 card reader? SDHC?
