My W500 has been running extremely slowly lately. It runs at the usual speed for maybe up to an hour right after a restart, then either after about an hour at most, going into sleep mode, or running a somewhat stressful application i.e. a game, it'll be slower than a snail with a hernia. Normally IE loads up in a second, but now its taking up to half a minute to load up! And task manager says that not even a quarter of ram is being used and that cpu is also barely used.

This started happening after I installed Maple Story for my brother to play and Adobe CS4 pro. I think there might be some connection, but I'm not sure.

Anyone have any ideas  Thanks in advance.

Download ProcessExplorer (link in my signature) and run it. See if "Hardware Interrupts" is using up a lot of your CPU.

No, Hardware Interrupts isn't taking very much CPU.

    BTW, what is Hardware Interrupts?

Google IRQ. But basically certain hardware components are fighting for resources and if the IRQs aren't set properly it can cause conflicts, hence possible CPU usage.

Check to see if you are slowing down becuase of the presence of a worm or it's equivalent.
