I've tried a few times to try and swap my W500 switchable graphics driver for a regular ATI 3650 driver, since supposedly it would gain a performance advantage when it comes to games. On Vista, I wasn't really impressed and so decided to keep the regular Lenovo switchable graphics driver. On top of that I had some problems with the resolution.
On Win 7 since there isn't a switchable graphics driver out yet, I thought I'd go ahead and install the ATI drivers again instead of just being stuck with integrated graphics. The installation goes fine and the card does seem to be a little stronger for games, however, it fails to play any game at a widescreen resolution. On the desktop however, it works fine at any resolution, widescreen included. (Same problem occurred in Vista before.)
I don't understand why this is when I'm using the same driver that's used on the T500 which is the same screen size as my W500 and supports the widescreen mode in games.
Any ideas?

Have you tried the latest Catalyst, 9.9 for Windows 7?

I just downloaded it, haven't tried it yet. I did use 9.8 so I'm skeptical about 9.9 fixing the issue.
