I currently have a school issued laptop T60. 1.6ghz and 2 GB RAM with intel 945GM. I'm not sure how many times I slammed the notebook every time it freezes when I do CAD/rendering work. But, It still runs like a champ.
Now, for the waiting game. :)

Nice configuration, although I question the need for a Smart Card slot. I didn't even know the W500 had the option for a T9900, although it does make sense.

Thanks, I'm a photographer, so I don't have to switch the card in the camera itself when I upload them in the computer. Same here. I found out yesterday when I did the configuration. I was suppose to purchase this a week ago, but decided to wait for the July 4th sale. But, did not see any sale on the W500. lol. Got thing I found out about the CPP and got it 400 dollars less than I was going to spend. :D

I think you are confused about what a "Smart Card" is. Every T500/w500 includes an SDHC reader (the standard card used by most digital cameras). A smart card is an identity token used for secure authentication in corporate environments ( info).

Other than that it looks like a very solid config. Like MidnightSun I also didn't know the w500 offered the T9900. Enjoy.
