Which HDD shall I go for in W500? Is the access speed for 7200 with turbo memory much faster than the other one? I have two options:
    1- 320GB 5400rpm
    2- 160GB 7200rpm + 2GB Turbo Memory
RAM : 4 GB (for both options)

    How about 320Gb 7200rpm?

Throughput on 5400RPM drives is pretty good, but 7200RPM drives have faster seek times which is what makes them seem faster.

If I could order over again, I'd get the cheapest drive on lenovo.com and buy a 320gb 7200 rpm drive off of newegg.

The problems is that this is a special offer, and I can choose between two options, without changing the specs! And I am not a big fan of external drives. Now what do you think? Speed or Capacity?

Speed, unless you have no other workstation/desktop for your main storage option.

If the 160GB is of the latest generation (like Seagate 7200.3 or Hitachi 7K320) it will be very fast.

But if it's a 160GB Seagate 7200.2 it wil be slower than some 320GB/5400rpm drives.
