    W500: wierd sound every few ?

    Hello guys,
    i hear weird sound every few seconds or minutes on my W500, i've been working for the past 6hrs or so and this sound showed suddenly

    not sure if its a disk issue or another device

    how can i test and confirm ?

    i run ubuntu linux btw

    What kind of a sound is it? High pitched whining? Beeping?

    like wining with the normal HDD sound when writing

    well not sure if its whining, its like grrrrgrgrgr , you know?

    Could it be this?

    I hear a noise like that on my T61 but it stopped when I unloaded the Vista sidebar. My guess is the noise is coming from the CPU area, and is probably emitted by something on the motherboard.
