Hey - just a few basic questions:

    • What are the exact sizes of the 15.6" HD Anti-Glare Display with LED Backlight and 15.6" HD+ Anti-Glare Display with LED Backlight? Any more specs on these?
    • What brand is the 128 GB Solid State Drive? I suspect I'm better off buying my own and swapping it...
    • Relatedly, does it come with recovery disks instead of a recovery partition? Obviously if I swap out the drive, I won't have that partition.

    Thanks!

Hey there! From your name i'm guessing you're a Nikon shooter? Anyway, some answers...

SSD is Samsung and yes, you're better off buying yours. Intel x-25m G2 is highly recommended though there are other great ones.

It comes with a recovery partition. You can pop the drive into an external enclosure, boot from it and restore the partition to your SSD. Alternatively, you can create recovery discs from the partition using supplied software and use these to set up your SSD.

    Hope I've helped

Canon, actually. The name is kind of a long, random story...

    Perfect, thanks.

Just what I was looking for - thanks!

Anybody know about the screens? And any thought on the Pantone color sensor? Does it compare to the mainstream colorimeters?

    Thanks!

Don't own the W510 but I think i've read everything written about it...lol. I'm upgrading my notebook soon and its between the W510 and the HP 8540w.

Anyway, I believe the color sensor isn't as full featured as the commercial ones but does a good enough job on the display. Reports say the software is dumbed down from the standard Pantone software.

You can find the specifications for the displays on the Lenovo site here.
