OK, here's the deal. I need a new laptop and REALLY need a FHD (1920x1080) display. (Mainly for multitasking, spreadsheets, etc.) I hate the typical 1366x768 resolution that has become ubiquitous on 15 inch laptops in the last couple of years. (Thus, IdeaPads are out.) And while I'm an aging baby boomer who uses the laptop mainly for business, I would like to have a rig that supports some of the more recent games.
I've never had a ThinkPad but I've always wanted one, especially having used the legendary keyboard on several. So a T5x0 or W5x0 are leading candidates. However, recognizing that the discrete graphics cards Lenovo puts in these systems are (understandably) optimized for professional applications, my question is whether I can expect a reasonable gaming experience (not optimal I realize) with these systems.
I know most folks on this forum aren't "gamers" but I'm wondering if there are some closet gamers who have an opinion.
