I also have seen the same laptop at ( PC-Canada.com) for a cheaper price! so here is what PC-Canada has, As I see they are both the same from the specs.. but the thing that is worrying me is the Warranty.. I don't know if I should go with Lenovo and wait 9 days to ship it or go with PC-Canada..

Each one of them has a different product number so in my mind I always think that Lenovo would provide me with the most updated laptop which might not make sense since its the same module , please check out those 2 links below and let me with which one I should go, after adding the warranty on PC-Canada the price is around 50$ more but they deliver to me the next day!

    Laptop:
    427639F | Lenovo ThinkPad W520 427639F Notebook | Canada's best price

    Warranty :

    41E9667 | Lenovo ThinkPad Protection with ThinkPlus Onsite Repair - 3 Year - 9x5x4 Hour - On-site - Maintenance - Parts & Labor - Physical Service | Canada's best price

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Thanks

That price is decent for the specs, only if you are ordering every single part from Lenovo. Otherwise, I'd recommend opting for a 2720QM with 4GB of RAM and the base 320GB HDD and waiting for a 25% off sale; in this config, with the 3 year priority onsite + TPP, it is like $1700-ish at most. I have seen a 30% sale (when I got my W520) and a 25% sale about 2 months after that in Canada.

    Hey Kirayamato,

I am ordering everything from them or from PC-Canada, actually without the warranty, PC-Canada sells the laptop with a limited 3 years warranty for $1615, I was waiting for the discounts but I never get them to match this price.. my main problem is the warranty and the delivery time, I heard there is alot of delay when u order too..

It took 16 days from when I ordered to when I had the machine in my hands. more than 9 of those days were spent just waiting for the rest of the batch so that it would actually fly out of China. This was also when many American buyers were waiting literally a month or more for their machines. As I said, it is a good price for buying all those specs from Lenovo, but you can save some more if you bought a lower spec'd machine and upgraded the components yourself.

It's a high price. You would be able to get a lower quote from the Barnes and Noble quote here.

Don't judge whether the price is fair or not by looking at the 'savings'. They are inaccurate. No one should get a thinkpad at their 'retail price'.

You should consider getting the Nvidia Quadro 2000M and the colour sensor is there so you can reproduce accurate colors with the FHD screen. This is a possible configuration for $1,648.35 (canadian pricing):

Intel Core i7-2820QM (Quad-Core) Processor (2.30GHz, 8MB L3, 1333MHz FSB) with Intel Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.4GHz
Genuine Windows 7 Professional (64 bit)
15.6" FHD (1920x1080) LED Backlit Anti-Glare display, with Wireless WAN Antenna
NVIDIA Quadro 2000M Optimus Graphics technology (2GB)
    4 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) Fingerprint Reader, Smart Card Reader
    320GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
    DVD Recordable
    9 Cell 2.8Ah Li-Ion Battery
    Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 with antenna
    Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN
    Integrated Mobile Broadband - Upgradable
    1 Year Depot/Express Warranty

The color censor is basically useless for me. I use it at most once per week. However, since W520 is a so great machine, it doesn't feel comfortable to go without color censor. That's why I decieded to get the censor.
Here is my W520 configuration, it costs 1209US$ including tax:
    Intel Core i7-2720QM (Quad-Core) Processor
Genuine Windows 7 Professional (64 bit)
15.6" HD (1600x900) LED Backlit with Wireless WAN Antenna
NVIDIA Quadro 1000M Optimus Graphics technology (2GB)
    4 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) Fingerprint Reader
    320GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
    DVD Recordable
    9 Cell 2.8Ah Li-Ion Battery
    Color censor
    Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 with antenna
    Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6205
    Integrated Mobile Broadband - Upgradable
    1 Year Depot/Express Warranty
    3 Years warranty upgrade

Of course.... right before I'm supposed to get my T520 ("out for delivery" as of an hour ago), I see a code that would have saved me ~ $280 more than the Civic Holiday coupon code. :(
