    Hi Everyone,
I've tried searching for any posts related to the W520, but the search keeps coming back with no items found even though there are 2 posts on the main page with W520 in the title.

Anyway, I have a W520 with an Intel 160GB SSD and I have problems with it when it's running on battery. Typing is very sluggish. I'll type several characters and they'll come out sluggish and jerky and in short bursts. Scrolling is another issue. When I use the arrow keys to scroll (or even the trackpad), it's unresponsive and often jerky when it does respond.

Startup is often another issue (on battery or plugged in). Even after I Ctrl-Alt-Del to start up, the system will just sit there for up to 20 seconds. No HD activity.

I've updated to BIOS 1.35 and I believe I have all the latest drivers. I've installed the Nvidia driver for the video card, but have Lenovo drivers for all the rest. The problems occurred even when I had the Lenovo driver installed.

    Specs are as follows:
i7 CPU (can't remember the exact model)
    8GB RAM
    Intel 160GB SSD
    Quadro 1000M GPU
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64

    Thanks for any help/tips!

You have the power management driver 1.64 installed? How about Power Manager 3.66?

What are your power management settings in the BIOS? Are you using one of the supplied power profiles in Power Manager or a custom profile? What settings are you using in it if applicable?

    Thanks for the response!

In the BIOS, I have the Power Managment set on 'Maximum Performance for both AC and battery.

As for the software....I don't know about the driver. I have Power Manager 3.65 installed. I've checked in the Programs/Features list and I don't see the driver listed there. How can I check to see if it is installed?

Once I know what I have installed, I'll update to the latest versions.
