Check the temps, lovely
And everything is quite snappy, moving from prog to prog, window to window
Open something else, no sweat
I love this Machine !!!
-
amazing, i wonder how the quad core cpu would have faired in this situation.
-
prolly better, yet hotter
-
so what you choose the dual core rather than the quad core model?
-
yes, heat and battery life, and life expectancy overall
I can live with the i-7 dual core no prob -
you can always upgrade it to the quad core when needs arise.
-
Pretty impressive, glad you like your purchase
-
thanks !! I sure do enjoy it

I have almost the same config as you do (minus the SSD), and I don't do anywhere NEAR that many things at once. Compared to my 2 year old desktop, my W520 is like 50% faster synthetically, but I honestly don't feel that much of a difference. In fact, it feels slower when I'm doing something storage intensive (probably because I have 2 500 GB 7200 RPM HDDs in my desktop vs the lone 320 GB in my W520). I wish I had the extra cash to drop on a SSD.
-
I pray money gawds bestow cash trees on your front lawn, because a SSD is the only wtg.
Btw, this was a test of sorts, like a 'burn in'. I don't run that crazy on a daily basis. But I do like to push things so I can feel confident overall. -
Eight hours of Battlefield 3 + forgetting to use level 64 fan. -
-
Might want to mind those tell-tale signs that you're playing back a pirated movie or two...
-
Every single one is a legal backup of my own movies, of course

got around to running a benchmark on the SSD
hawt damm !!
this is the SSD
And here is the WD Scorpio Black, running @ 7200 rpm (haha)
-
I'll run your tests on my W520 (and then some) later on this afternoon when classes are over. I'm interested to see how the 2720QM and Quadro 2000M stack up against the 2620M and 1000M. Not sure how much of a difference a SATAII SSD would make, though.
-
But it helps make your claim just a wee bit more believable if you remove the names of the release groups from the file names... -
-
-
no offense, but I think you were truly seeing things lol
thanks for your comments tho'
-
I see what you did there
W520 - passes My 'Burn In' Test and then some.....
