Hi guys, I am thinking of sourcing 1 of these laptops, any suggestions/advice on which would be a better investment.

    Thanks.

M6600 is pretty good. Either the M6600 or W520 would do nicely, which one really depends on which one is the cheapest to procure for you. Also, i think the M6600 can optioned with Eyefinity ATI GPU which allows you to drive 5 monitors with the dock.

The W520 can drive 3 monitors with the Optimus Nvidia.

The heat output on the W520 and M6600 is about the same.

    I'd choose M6600 if budget isn't a concern. I like the 17 inch monitor :)

Hm, i am about to make a decision between the two too.

    M6600:

    Bigger and brighter screen

    More powerful thx to gpu

    Less battery life!

    W520:

    Better case, better battery life

The W520 really compares with the M4600 which has the available RGBLED + IPS screen. M6600 has no Lenovo competitor since they killed off the W7xx series.

Depends on what you do your machine? M6600 has a better cooling system being a larger laptop, but the same FHD resolution of the W520 so it comes down to, do you want a ThinkPad or a true DTR.
