    Hey everybody,
I just got myself a W520 to replace my aging T61. I replaced the main drive with an SSD and the CD drive with a HDD through the SATA III Ultrabay adapter. But when I insert the adapter in the ultrabay, there is about .5cm clearance along the top. Is this normal? I am worried that dust might collect in there and mess with the hard drive.

Here is a picture of what I am talking about.

    Thanks,
    -Joe

Yep, unfortunately that is normal. The W520/T520/T420's UltraBay is 12.7mm tall, while the caddy is designed for the old 9.5mm tall UltraBay. The only way to get a perfect fit is to use a non-Lenovo third party caddy that is 12.7mm tall.

Srsly, ultrabay gap should be put in a sticky. This is getting as annoying as sata cap and fn-ctrl.
