How are the W520s regarding dreaded CPU whine when running off battery and switching between power states?

My W510 was affected by it and it was extremely annoying. Has this problem been fixed in the new model?

I had a W510 and sent it back for the same reasons. I haven't heard anything from my W520 similar to that and I've had it about 8 months.

Haven't noticed anything about it either. Tested my CPU with Throttlestop and OCCP.

I think I hear something from time to time, but it's not bad.

I could here the whining from time to time when I had my system. For some reason's some webpages with scrolling news feeds created the noise (Cnet for example). Didnt bother me at all though cause it rarely happened.

I noticed it with BIOS 1.26, but after updating I haven't noticed it since. Don't have a clue why it stopped with the update (but I'm certainly happy)

It is more noticeable when I'm running on battery. It's a constant high-pitched noise (gets quieter when I load the CPU). On AC it produces high-pitched beeps every minute or so sometimes. It started happening with the 1.26 BIOS update, if I'm not wrong.
