Hey guys, so I have a weird problem. I just bought an HDD caddy from newmodeus to add a 2nd drive to my W530 (a WD Caviar Black 750GB). Windows detects it and runs just fine, but when if I try to access bios by hitting F1 on boot with the 2nd drive installed, it hangs at:

Initializing Intel(R) Boot Agent GE v1.3.81
    PXE 2.1 Build 091 (Wfm 2.0)

If I remove the drive and try to access bios, it works just fine. Anybody know whats going on? Thanks.

Ok, so I managed to figure out what was wrong. Apparently, to get it to boot into bios with the ultrabay HDD installed, I had to disable "ATAPI CD0" from the boot order. Disabled it, turned the machine off, stuck the drive in, restarted and everything's working fine.

Ok, just kidding, still can't get access to bios, it still hangs at:

Initializing Intel(R) Boot Agent GE v1.3.81
    PXE 2.1 Build 091 (Wfm 2.0)

I posted on the Lenovo forums, but haven't gotten a reply yet. Tech support told me to reinstall windows, which I highly doubt will do anything...

    Any help please?

You might try to reset all the BIOS settings via the F9 once in there. Sometimes it resets things.

Hey, sorry I've been busy the last couple of days. The F9 reset seems to work for a bit, but it seems to undo itself after a few days and I lose bios access. I can't seem to find any other information online or with tech support, might just end up returning the thing in case there's something wrong =/

I should also note that it now seems to do this at random unless the original dvd drive is installed and the power is plugged in. Occasionally, even with the dvd drive installed and running on battery, it will hang at the intel boot agent.

In 1st post the OP said: "I just bought an HDD caddy from newmodeus to add a 2nd drive to my W530"...

Odds are it's not a Lenovo part, but I could be wrong.

While that is true, the issue also happens without the HDD.
