    Recently I bought a used W530 with 32G RAM. This W530 has 64bit Win 7 Pro.

I did an extended CPU test on it. No problem. However, I got FAILED in three (not two. sorry) metrics in extended memory tests:

    Moving inversions-32 bit
    Random number sequence
    Block move test

I can start/shutdown and use this laptop without seeing any problem. So what do the above test results mean to me in using the laptop? Should I find out which memory chip led to the failures?

    Thanks and regards!

I would check to see which module is bad, it may not seem apparent at first but should you do RAM intensive tasks later it may become noticeable when applications starts to crash randomly and the system becomes unreliable to use.

I had this issue when I was using my T420, it looks fine at first but over time my internet browser just seems to mysteriously crash and shut down for no good reason. It was when I remembered that I put the browser cache on to my RAM that I investigated further and it turned out that one of my RAM modules had indeed gone bad.

Fortunately I had lifetime warranty on the faulty module so I had a working replacement from the vendor. I would check up to see if your RAM vendor will provide a warranty replacement for the faulty module.
