Anyone got a T400 (w/ discrete graphics) and a dock? Can it do WQXGA (2560x1600)? You can find out in display setting by unchecking the box on the monitor settings tab that says "show only supported modes". I would really like to get one of those big screens. Thanks.

I'm curious about this, too. Anybody know? It worked on some of the T61 and older laptops, depending on which dedicated video card. I've also read that some versions of the x4500 integrated video do dual-link DVI, it might just be the x4500HD.

I'm really curious as to which of the new Thinkpads support WQXGA on the Mini Dock. Anybody knows?

Information on which laptops you know for sure DO NOT support WQXGA on the mini dock would also be helpful.
    I'm mainly wondering about:
    T400 w/ Intel 4500 graphics
    T400 w/ ATI graphics
    Anyone?

I spent 1 hour and 5 minutes on the phone with 4 different people at Lenovo, and haven't gotten a conclusive answer. The last guy said he'd look into it, and get back to me if he finds out.

I didn't ask Lenovo, but if anyone knows if any of the thinkpads DisplayPort will work at 2560x1600 (either the T500 built-in port, or the X200/X200s and the ultrabase's DisplayPort), that would also be useful info. There are 2560x1600 DisplayPort LCDs now, although mine is only DVI. Dunno if I could get an adapter to convert from DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI...

I'm pretty sure DisplayPort supports 2560x1600. At least that's what the Wikipedia page on it says.

Confirmed: T400 (discrete graphics) in minidock will drive WQXGA.

Directly via DisplayPort it can show 2560x1600.
But if you use an adapter from DisplayPort on DVI only 1920x1200 would be possible, because it seems that only single-link-DVI-adapters are supported or available.

I tried to look for one, unfortunately I could not find any. That made me decide to go for a W500 instead of X200/X301.
If you find one please post info on this forum! Until then I will have to stick to Thinkpads that can output Dual Link DVI through Mini Dock.

Jonathan Edwards: Thanks for confirming that.

Anyone know about the possibility of T400 w/ integrated Intel graphics supporting WQXGA over Mini Dock's DVI?
