If i order the WWAN verizon card (which is currently free on any $1200+ notebooks), where do i put the simcard in? Is it also unlockable so i can use it in europe or asia when im traveling?
Also, does anyone know what the specs of the Verizon card are?

It's not based on GSM, so it doesn't have a simcard, I don't think...

I don't have a WWAN module but when I upgraded my RAM to 4GB I saw that I have a sim card slot.
Since we are talking about WWAN, I have a question: where can I buy an after market WWAN module for my X61? -
i think only AT&T cingular card can have simcard inserted in it and you need to unlock it to work(not confirmed though)

Could anyone take a picture of where they saw a simcard slot? -
hi,
Ive got a T61 and have gone through the process of buying and installing a MC8775, sim card slot and the antenna kit.
The sim card slot is a separate piece of hardware to the min pcie card. it plugs into the laptops motherboard and is mounted inside the case with on opening to the battery compartment.
The sim card slot is located underneath the battery on the T61 series, so you need to remove the battery to insert the sim.
In regards to buying a WWAN card you need to buy either a Lenovo branded card or hack the bios to get a non lenovo branded card to work. theres more info here if your interested http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=55837&sid=7a1d28e778cb5aa94d4e871868894a12
I myself bought a lenovo branded MC8775 from lenovo spare parts.
