    Hi all,
first post and need some help. I'm new to the world of WWAN connections so I'm a bit perplexed as to what I need.

I will be getting a T-series thinkpad (haven't decided 400 or 500) in the coming month. In Canada, we don't have the option of WWAN so I won't be able to customize the thinkpad w/ it.

I'm currently working in Afghanistan and will need a WWAN card for this computer to connect to Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC) for the Internet. From the AWCC website, they use GSM 900/1800 band and GPRS for the Internet.

Since, Lenovo Canada doesn't offer (to my knowledge) WWAN cards, I'll have to find one from elsewehre. So far I've found a Ericsson F3507G card and a Sierra Wireless MC5720 card off eBay. Which one (or other card) would work in a newer T-series and w/ this particular service provider. Thanks.

By process of elimination on what you've given us, I would think you'd be better served by the ericson as opposed to the sierra wireless. I know a mc5720 would do you well for verizon, but I think that out of the US I don't know much about it.
