Has anyone seen or used the 15.4" WXGA (1280x800) LED-backlit display on the T500? I was looking at the T500 to suggest a configuration to another user and that option seemed odd to me.

A 15.4" WXGA (1280x800) CCFL display is standard. It's a $50 to upgrade to the LED display at the same (low) resolution or $75 to get the WSXGA+ (1680x1050) CCFL. As much as I like LED displays, the high-resolution WSXGA+ CCFL seems like a no-brainer for only $25 more than the LED...unless I'm missing something.

    Just curious...

I have not seen the WXGA LED. If you're looking for a LED, why not the WXGA+ on the e6500?

I have a T500 with a 1200x800 LED display. It is nice and bright, and it is usable outside. The vertical viewing angle sucks, but that is normal on almost all displays these days. It isn't the best display, but it is matt (no reflections) and it gets the job done. All in all I am quite happy with it.

I went with the LED since I wanted a bright display. Also I sort of prefer the 1200x800 since being in my 50's my eyesight isn't as good as it once was, so I like having the large text and images. Yea it is more scrolling, but I can live with that. For me the 1650x1050 text is way, way too small.
