I just got my new T500 yesterday. To be honest, I am a little disappointed about the WXGA LED screen. Not only there are at least bad points on the screen, but also the color or maybe the contrast don't seem right. It's very bright though.

The refresh rate is only 60 when using 1280*800 resolution. This makes the screen looks a bit unclear. However, if I change the resolution to smaller resolutions, the highest refresh rate is still 60, even for 800*600. Anyone know what is going on? Is it supposed to be like this?

why would the refresh rate go any higher on different resolutions? its an lcd, so the max will be 60hz.

It's a LCD monitor not a CRT monitor.

Thank you for your reply. I don't know that refresh rate staff before.

The display just looks odd. Maybe I need more time to get used to it?

What should I do about those 2 bad points? I tried DRT but it didn't work.

Calibrate the screen. You need to go into your intel/ati graphic settings and play around a bit.

Every laptop screen I have ever owned had a refresh rate of 60Hz. That alone would not make a screen look "unclear" - some very, very nice screens have that refresh rate as well.

Not too much you can do about the color and contrast. You can calibrate it, but I have heard that there's not too much improvement.

I originally was unhappy with my T500 LED. The colors were washed out and were skewed to blue. After making these adjustments with the ATI Catalyst Control Center I am very happy with the brightness/colors.

Under Graphics Settings > Color, changed the following.

    Blue Brightness to -60
    Red Brightness to -35
    Green Brightness to -25

You can also try adjusting the Hue settings under the Avivo Colors.

Thank you for your reply. I tried your method, and it seems there is some improvement. Now I am trying to use some software to fix the stuck point. Well, I hope it's a stuck pixel but not a bad pixel. Any suggestion on how to fix a stuck point on screen? Any method difference for a LED backlight screen?

Just wondering if you made any adjustments to the Intel driver settings and if so what are they and thanks.

I never tried the Intel graphics until now I have always been using the ATI graphics.
I disabled the ATI driver and the Intel default display colors were slightly worse than the ATI default colors. The Blue was even brighter with Intel.

After a few minutes of tweeking the Intel Color Brightness I was able to get the display close to the same look as the tweeked ATI display.
I reduced the Intel Brightness to these numbers.
    Blue -33
    Red - 23
    Green -16
