Can it be done on a T61? I currently have a WXGA screen and I am able to buy a WXGA+ screen. Will it be compatible? The WXGA+ screen is for the T61, but it is a higher resolution. Also, when installing it, are the Black Pieces that cover the screws easy to come off and on?

Yes it can, you need a different inverter and LCD cable, though. Also, don't post in multiple threads about this...Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015

This is my first thread first off all. My other thread was about the difference between two screens.
These are two totally different subjects.
Does the LCD come with an inverter and LCD cable? -
Guys please stay on topic. If you don't have anything useful to say than don't post at all. Thank you.

Any other opinions on whether I need anything to do this upgrade?

You can do it, but keep in mind you will void your warranty. In my own personal opinion you're best off selling what you got and getting what you want. By the time you purchase the screen, which are expensive, you won't be saving much and you'll have a warranty. Also keep in mind if something goes awry, you'll be left with paper weight with little value.

I believe that I answered your question. You need a WXGA+ screen, the appropriate inverter, and the appropriate LCD cable. Search on ebay for these items.
If you want somebody else's advise, that's fine as well
Also, I believe that you paid for 3-year warranty, so you might reconsider. Doing this upgrade will void the warranty. -

You need skillz -
I don't need skills when I have money
-
Skills save you a lot of money in the long run though, so I suggest you get some given the opportunity

One could argue that skills cost money, though.

if money is no issue, then just get a new one ;D
