simply put, which do people prefer?
and is it worth the extra $30..haha

my m1330 13.3 will be WXGA..so i figured .8" more should be fine..but i see many people with the 1440×900 screens on theirs ibms!

for only 30 bucks you'd be crazy not to get it, unless you have a vision problem

I previously have had both WXGA+ on my vaio and WXGA on an old T43

my $0.02 cents... = if you're on the net all day reading stuff (like me) on forums, word, coding than def WXGA..........no doubt

but if one wants media...games, movies occasionally and not use the notebook strictly for work...than it's worth spending the extra $30

Always ALWAYS go for higher resolutions when available. If you have vision problems or prefer larger text, just set the font DPI lower.

    I think: WXGA 1200x800

I order WXGA only because the choice of WXGA+ will dely shipping for 20 days more. I can not wait for that long. Otherwise, I will take the WXGA+.

On the other hand, my main work is concentrated on MS office like word, excel, access. I think I can survive with WXGA.

deffinetlly..the way i look @ it, integrated graphics = no gaming, or @ low rez if anything..movies will look fine @ that rez too

if i got for the higher rez, besides the $30 price difference, could it be too small?

right now im on a 19" lcd @ work.. 1400x900 and thats legit

Go wxga+. Unless you have really bad eyes, that will be the best $30 you spend on an option.

In terms of pixel density (120.5ppi), it splits the difference between the wxga on 13.3 you're used to now (113.5ppi) and wsxga+ on a 15.4" (128.5ppi), which is my personal sweet spot.

    No, you didn't.

I find the font at WXGA already too small sometimes. I've gotten used to it over the course of a year working w/ a borrowed MacBook (that I'm returning as soon as I get my R61), but I don't think I can handle 1440 x 900. I usually don't set the resolution to the highest a monitor can achieve.

Nobody can tell you because ppl have different comfort levels.

But for me, SXGA+ blows away either of these options.

The problem with WXGA+ is that the screen is too short, especially if you increase the DPI to make text more comfortable for long viewing.

I think that abf092 gave a very good balanced reply, above

By the way, i think wxga on T61 is 800 high, not 768 (the poll is incorrect)

    My eye is sharp.
And I love the picture more smoothly.
So I choose wxga+ for certain.
