I want to display 2 pages beside each other on this W700 i have my eye on in the Lenovo Outlet for an amazing price if i get it. I used to do this constantly on my T61p (ran over by fluke), i was also taking gaming into consideration, and i know it looks much crisper to run games at native res. I also considered the fact that it is a monstrous 17" which i've never owned, so i don't know how WXGA+ would look on a 17". What are people's opinion on this?

i had a WUXGA W700 and wouldn't want any lower resolution.   if you're going to go that big then you might as well get the most pixels in the process.

    WXGA+ on a 17" would look like a 1440x900 crop on a 30".   each would be 100 PPI.

WXGA+ on a 17" is like WXGA on a 15"... far too low pixel density for my liking. If you're going to lug around a 17" monster, might as well have a nice, large screen with it.

Alright, i think i will go for WUXGA, if there are any WUXGA W700's left by the time i order one from The Lenovo Outlet, they're going pretty fast.

17" WUXGA is akin to 15" UXGA like my screen, which I would say is starting to get on the high side for pixel density.

17" WUXGA is of a very similar PPI to the standard-aspect ratio 15" UXGA, but much less than the wide-screen 15.4" WUXGA.

    Comparative PPI's are as follows:

    15.4" WUXGA = 147.02
    17" WUXGA = 133.19
    15" UXGA = 133.33
    15.4" WSXGA+ = 128.65
    17" WXGA+ = 99.89

WUXGA 17" has a bit higher PPI than WSXGA+ on a 15.4" screen. Definitely not as extreme as WUXGA on a 15.4" screen.

On WSXGA+, I can fit 2 97% pages next to each other in Word 2007, and on my brother's WUXGA desktop monitor, he can fit 2 100% pages with a bit of room left over.
