Waiting for it to be shipped...

Well my new T61 should be shipped soon since its est. ship date is this thursday (17th) and I really can't wait I am getting pretty excited for it and wish it would ship already. Its spec's are in my sig. I ordered on 6/26 and have been counting down the days until it would be shipped.

 

Great specs. That's pretty much what I have, except yours is better.

14" w/ NVS 140M is a great medium.

 

I've ordered a bunch of ThinkPads in the last year. For all but the most recent one, the estimated ship date would be 3-4 weeks out and it would arrive within a couple weeks. On 6/24 I ordered an SSD-equipped T61 and the estimated ship date was 7/14. This time it shipped out on the exact that date that was estimated. Something else, although I specified UPS Ground, it is coming via Express.

 

I guess its probably a good thing its not shipping early because I won't be home the next two days to get it so it shipping thursday should work out pretty good actually.

 

Well, no shipment confirmation e-mail sent...needless to say I'm disappointed because I heard Lenovo is pretty good about shipping before their estimated ship date. Oh well, not in my case. I've still got some waiting to do.

The T61 I ordered on 6/24, shipped on the estimated ship date of 7/14 and arrived in NY on 7/16 via Korea and Alaska.

I'd call em. I order a T61 with the same specs you did, minus the Turbo Cache and I choose 2gb Ram in One Dimm, on 7/15/08 and it was shipped on 7/17/08. Although I did choose WXGA+ as well, maybe there is a shortage of WXGA screens?? I'd call anyway.

 

I took your advice and called and as I called, and looked on the website, I saw the date of shipment changed to the 31st and told the rep that and he said to "ignore that date since its estimated and I am assuming you see the date of shipment as August the 11th" and I said no, it says the 31st of july which was the 17th of july this morning...So I found that odd that their system says the 11th of August and mine now says the 31st of july versus the 17th of july this morning. He did say though to expect it to be shipped out this next week.

 

Well it shipped today and I will have a delivery date tomorrow.

Sorry I meant I will know what the delivery date is tomorrow, not that it was tomorrow (today), its scheduled delivery is friday the 25th right now so we'll see, right now on UPS tracking it has not left yet as of 7:47 PM on the 20th (so thatd be the 19th here since China would be a day behind I believe.) And thank you I really cannot wait for it.

 

I'm thinking about that setup but with the t8400 instead, and no turbo memory. By the time I add the extended warranty and dock its 1400 bux, which makes it hard to push the checkout button.

 

Especially when you add the warranty it gets pricey, but I have a good feeling it will be a worthwhile purchase for me for school. Its definitely not easy dealing out 1000+ dollars for anything.

 

My ship date changed a few times and all of a sudden it had been shipped. Took a few days because it got held up with customs in tennessee or some ****. It's worth the wait though!

 

Yeah, as of 9:41 this morning (CST) my Laptop had its departure scan from China so its officially on its way now. But on UPS tracking the arrival date is gone now, it doesnt have one anywhere on the page.

But if you go to slickdeals.net and search their deals forum for Lenovo, there is a thread there with access to employee/share-holder pricing on Lenovo products. I got my R61 for about $1100 with a 2-yr warranty and the discount. It's worth checking out. I got mine this past week and am loving it so far.

 

Well, it arrived in Alaska today around 4 PM CST, and I Have a feeling its going to end up getting here on wednesday when I won't be home so someone from my family will answer the door and it will just be sitting there all day at my house lol, with my whole family having to hold back the temptation to open it.

 

Yeah I was thinking with this rollcage business and the spill dispersing keyboard I could cut back on the accidental...? you think thats a good idea?

Yeah I'm going through Contractor pricing which is I think a little better on some of the items for pricing, and also its an allowed way of purchasing for friends or family, the employee/share-holder isnt supposed to be. (slickdeals ftw)

 

It would really depend I guess on where your using it, for me personally, I would not cut back at all but I'd just rather be as safe as possible then sorry. In my case I'm bringing it to college so I just know if I cut back on the accidental the day after it expired i'd have an accident.

 

Does any one have experience with Refurbished shipping? It’s been 5 days and they still haven’t processed my order

 

My laptop just had its import scan at Louisville so its looking like I'll be getting it probably friday like the estimated date said when I first tracked the shipment (its gone now, not really sure why?) So itll be just a day shy of a month since I ordered it when I get it...hopefully.

 

I got so frustrated with waiting on the status of a Refurbished order that I made them cancel it and ordered a new thinkpad instead. Over the course of about a week, I was told many times that they could not even tell me if they had the machine I ordered in stock until at least 5 days after I placed the order.

The best part was, once I actually told them to cancel it, they suddenly knew the exact status of the order and said they were going to ship it that same day! Yeah, right.

 

Well to my surprise a lot happened last night with my shipment and as of 8 AM this morning my laptop was out for delivery from a town like 15 minutes away so I can't imagine not getting it today. Once I have it I'll give a little first impressions post.

 

Well it arrived today, of course it came like 30 minutes before I had to leave for work, so I didn't get a chance to do much with it. But just looking at it was a relief, its a sharp notebook and I couldn't be happier, I've used other laptops from friends and family and this one by far is the sturdiest, I picked it up and was in awe. I cannot wait to get home tonight and get it going and all started up.

 

I ordered mine on the 22nd, and got the free 2 day shipping...estimated ship date is Aug 5..do you think it would ship earlier than that? any Later? I dont know how they do 2 day shipping from China.

 

Well it seems to me like its pretty hit or miss with the ship dates, I read a lot of threads on here saying that Lenovo is very conservative with their ship dates and it usually ships sooner but then for me mine shipped later. (Est. was the 17th and it was shipped on 19th) So it's probably too hard to tell really, its pretty safe to say I would guess that it will ship around the 5th (+/- 2 days?) I'd wait to here from someone whose been around here a little longer than me though.

 

Well, I ordered mine on 7/18. Estimated shipping date was 8/01. But it shipped on 7/24. Got it with the 2 day shipping. So hopefully it will be here pretty soon.

Well first impressions of my new T61...

AWESOME!!! I SIMPLY LOVE IT!!!!

I've just done a few things from the Vista tweak guide and installed a few programs and I have been enjoying myself. I installed CoH Gold and was playing for a little bit and it ran pretty good, after a while it started to hiccup a bit so I think I may go for the new drivers on video2go but other than that no complaints.

could this be because of the bluetooth shortage? I hope I'm not affected by that too bad

 

I didn't get the bluetooth until now, it's up to 10 days and still nothing has changed Now I wonder if they can commit the est. shipping day (7/31)

Hm, I ordered mine on the 21st and it shipped out on the 26th, should be at ShipItAPO tomorrow and then a week to get here. I can't wait!

 

Must be nice! I went ahead and canceled my order. The Bluetooth option really is bad. So i reordered with some changes.

 

I ordered a refurbished T61 on July 9 with a ship date estimate of July 23.

On July 21 I cancelled the order.

On July 23 I requested that the outlet store reinstate the original order for the same exact machine. They did reinstate my order and gave me a new order number and a new estimated ship date of August 6.

Still waiting...

How can Lenovo sell $13 Billion of product with this type of refurbish time?
