Hey guys, I'm having an issue with my laptop waking from sleep mode. When I put the computer to sleep, when I wake it up, sometimes the resolution gets weird. The icons and everything is zoomed in and is much bigger. This problem seems to be getting worse. It doesn't happen all the time but it's been happening more often now. Is it due to the monitor or the laptop? I used to have a similar issue with this problem with my prior desktop, which I also used with this monitor.

Anyone else have/had the same issue?

    Thank you.

You must be more specific with your explanation. What are the readings under screen resolution? Also, what is the state of your machine prior to sleep mode, i.e. connections, peripherals, etc., and upon restart? Also when did this problem begins? Was there an upgrade, program install? What changed before you noticed this issue?

    Jane, I have the T530.

    Krane,

The screen resolution drops down to one of the lower settings. I have a keyboard, mouse and an LCD monitor attached to the laptop. The problem began about a week after I hooked the external devices to the laptop. As for upgrades, the only thing I did was add more RAM.

    Thanks.

It's a problem with the external monitor not closing it's connection, when you put it to sleep.

I've had it with both Win 7, and 8.1, on my laptop, and my A520.

I think that the solution is to dis-connect the monitor, by changing the software setting from "Duplicate" to "Computer Only" before putting the system to sleep. If you don't, sometimes the Intel HD Graphics attempts to use the monitor's settings first, when waking up. Usually, the external monitor is a different resolution from the PC, so once in a while, that setting will be taken for the laptop's screen. All the screen icons will get "zoomed" and large. After that, the fix is a reboot, to get the PC's screen back to the proper resolution.

I also had this problem, after a failure in my WiDi's communication protocol.
