I ordered my x60 around 10/15, orginally it said it would ship on 10/22, then on 10/22 the website simply changed the date to 11/9 without any explanation.
Then today, when i opened the website, lenovo again changed the shipping date to 12/05.
This is just not the right courtesy of doing business. I expect at least some explanation for repeated delays on a $3000 laptop....
I am really disappoionted.
-
Have you given IBM a call about the delay?
-
An unexplained two month delay is NOT acceptable. Call them and find out why the laptop has been delayed so much- if they won't give you a straight answer say you're just going to cancel your order. You have full right to do so.
-
Wow, a two month delay. I wouldn't stand for that, take your business elsewhere. Their loss.

Reminds me when I was trying to get a z60m when they first came out. Hellow 3-4 month delay with weekly bumps.

It definitely pays to call or email, I did and I got results. They were very good about answering my emails within a day...be firm, but polite, and you may get some help. Good Luck, Cory

I thought it's usual for Lenovo to do that, their shipping date should not be taken seriously as it will always be pushed back. By the time you get your laptop, it's prob. 2 years later and you could prob. get it faster by walking and swimming to china to get it and back.
Sometimes I think it's a 10th wonder of the world (since Einstein dubbed Compound interest as the 8th wonder of the world and 9th is taken by a hip hop producer) that they can survive by the way they operate their shipping. I am guilty of supporting their way as I bought one as well.....
(Worker: Now we just need to get this from china to US.
Boss: Hm.. well, that's impossible, better tell them to come get it) -
I got mine 20 days before the predicted delivery time
-
I got my Z60m within ~1.5 weeks of when I ordered it.
-
Definately call, over a month on shipping, something has gone wrong or delayed on their end.
-
Mine arrived in a week or so. Your case seems like an aberration. Lately they seem to have significantly improved the supply chain problems which were frequently horrific early this year.
-
That is good to know. I guess there not as bad as some of the competition. But again, they are not asembled here.

thanks for all the suggestions
i did call and the rep was very polite. i also canceled part of my order and was telling the rep that i might be thinking of canceling the entire computer since i definitely need it asap. Marvelously today, they shipped out via express, almost a month before the delayed date
I do feel a bit uneasy that they obviously had the option of shipping it out faster...
Anyway, waiting for the C2D X60.... Just wish it's fast, and not too hot
Warning on Shipping
