I was looking at the W500 last night, and I was planning on buying it this morning. Last night, with the student discount it was $1095 or so. I looked this morning, and it was $1250 or so... but they had added a 10% thanksgiving discount so it almost evened out. I went to watch the Chicago Bears game, came back and now the laptop is like $1400 with no discount. This is all in the course of just a few hours.

What gives? Does Lenovo ever keep their price steady for at least a day? This laptop looks great... but this is just out of control..

if it is that often, you have 21 day price match.

their system sucks, buy with luck.

You'd better make a qoute when you feel that's a good deal and then you cross your finger to see what will happen next 30 days.

Yea it seems that way... I just started looking at Business class notebooks and realized it was definitely the type of laptop i've been looking for. I didn't know what to expect since I hadn't been looking that long... seems that $1095 was a pretty good price for this machine.

I've been looking at the ASUS M50Vm-A1 and the MSI-1651. Neither is very well comparable to this kind of class.. this is just so much more professional, and the battery life is amazing. The MSI-1651 is a decent compromise between "consumer" and "professional."

I wish I could find a nice 15.4" Business class laptop with a numeric keypad. I'd be sold.

Those are beautiful, Jayonhavok... I had not ever seen those before. Business class isn't a necessity. I just don't want something that is outrageously garnished with LED lights and bright colors. I play by the KISS theory. Keep it simple, stupid!

Where is the best place to buy these notebooks?

Well thank you for posting it for the 3rd time Chk, that made my order cost less than the first time! :)

And so it is done! I ordered it! Hurray!! I can go back to being a productive member of society... at least until it arrives and I have to clean install everything. Thanks so much for all the help and information everybody. I hope this thing is great.

I also hope that I actually get the right graphics card and not the 3650 like that other dude is saying he got..

Can anybody point me in the direction of some instructions for how to setup XP on my machine nicely? Or am I going to get better battery life in windows vista? I got business 64 bit with the XP downgrade

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Hey Kevin, be sure to let us know what you think. I, and maybe a few others, would find that very useful.
