My son, a college freshman, is not able to boot his Lenovo 3000 N100. He thinks water may have gotten into his notebook but was having problems with it prior to the "water incident".
My question is there an indicator for water exposure in a notebook like there is in cell phones? Since the notebook is only 5 months old I think it might be worth repairing and if it was the water exposure the repair would be on me if not hopefully under warranty (unless it was a virus).
Any experience or guidance would be appreciated.![]()

Try opening it up and see if there is any moisture on the inside. If there is, you'll have to let it dry completely before doing anything. Maybe hold a hairdryer to it but on the air settings or the coolest/lowest setting there is.
Water damage detectable
