    Hello everyone,

I would just like to ask whether is there any chance of saving my Z400 which has recently been damaged by a water spill. My sister who was beside me at a table spilled her water bottle on the left side of the laptop, with the power out port and power button being the notable parts subjected to water, as with the left side of the keyboard. I immediately unplugged my laptop, but since the battery is built in I was not able to remove the battery and instead waited for 2 days for the entire thing to dry with fans blowing at it non-stop. The laptop restarted on its own twice before being unable to power on. I took it to a local repair center and they've said that the IC (integrated circuit) and motherboard short circuited. They'll try to replace the IC and see if it can still function, but I would like to know whether is there any chance it can be still repaired at a reasonable cost given the situation, or is the motherboard too far gone for it to be saved that it would need replacing, to almost the cost of a new unit. I don't have a lot of money to spare right now, and this is my laptop I use for work (I'm a freelance writer and researcher), so another question would be could I still use the parts most especially the hard drive since my important files are there.

Thank you for reading and any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
