I know there was a thread about updating the graphics drivers and disabling a certain app from booting up using msconfig, but neither have worked for me.
My drivers are already the most up to date from lenovo's site, and intel's site doesn't seem to have anything useful for me there either...
Disabling the app from starting up also proved to not do anything, and plus it didn't seem to add my custom display settings (I like to add some saturation, etc) either which I love having.

What are you trying to do? Change the default to 50Hz or to 60Hz? If you want to avoid the blank screen when switching between mains power and battery then see my post here.

Yes, trying to change the default 50 to 60. Whenever I have dark/light greys on the screen, my eyes can detect a throbbing motion in the screen, that goes away when I set it to 60hz.

I've had no problems getting my custom settings (for example adjustment to gamma and blue saturation) in the Intel graphics control panel persist. Do you have full admin rights in your logon profile? Task Manager shows that I have 3 igfx modules running. Also, I have only Intel graphics. Switchable graphics may create additional configuration problems.

Yes msconfig has 3 intel things set to launch at startup, which I've got all 3 enabled now because the one that I turned off because another thread said would fix the problem... didn't fix the problem.
I only have intel graphics... it's an x220... I have nothing to switch to.
Intel's software remembers my 60hz fine, it's Windows that keeps flipping it back to 50hz. -

I'm not sure about the heirachy between the Lenovo Power Manager, the Windows power manager and the intel graphics control panel but it's quite plausible that one could overwrite settings in another. If it is any help, in Lenovo Power Manager, under idle timers the Lower refresh rate is set to Never, and the 50Hz is greyed out. The power plan in the Intel control panel is set to Balanced.

Way to fix the 50hz default on the x220?
