You could try a distributer like CDW but for the most part they are gone.

You could look at the SL500, T500, and W500 as replacements depending on whether you want a more comsumer, low-end, or high-end replacement respectivly.

They won't be making anymore because it's an old model. New models (W500, W700) are replacing it.

I believe Lenovo doesn't sell them anymore, only the T61. The T61's were replaced by the new Thinkpad series (W500) because of Intel's new chipset. New chipset = laptop series refresh. The new Thinkpads feature Montevina Processor, new WiFi, new integrated graphics and so on. Also, Lenovo offers newer video card options for the new series.

oh okay. i just got a ibm t61p from craigslist and it has all parts in it that have a manfracting date of april 2008. the dvd dl rom has a feb 2008 and the rest have the date of april 2008. also has a full 3 year warranty until april 27 2011. so i take it they went out of date after april?

I'd say more or less, 1 month ago. The whole Thinkpad refresh was only a month ago.

You can try Euclid Computers or ProVantage. I did a review of Euclid, maybe that'll interest you.

Try Ebay, ibmoutlet is a very popular Thinkpad seller. You'll probably will get a good deal without worrying about the scam.
