I have the Legion 5 with a 4800H and 2060, and originally 2x8GB of Crucial 3200CL22 memory
A couple weeks ago I opened up my Legion 5 to replace the SSDs, and while I had it open, I decided to re-paste the CPU (with MX-4), even though cooling is really good on this laptop.
Anyway, I didn't actually check the temps or Cinebench R20 score before, but after putting it back together and switching it on, I got a score of like 4,100 and temps reached 100C+ on the CPU quickly.
About a week ago, I got some Fury Impact 3200CL20 RAM so opened it up to replace that, and while I did that I decided to re-paste the CPU and GPU again in case I just did a bad job.
I spread the paste out, and there weren't any gaps or air bubbles, and while it wasn't the thinnest application, I didn't put a huge amount on.
After switching the laptop on again, I got 4600+. Much better, but the temps still hit 95-100C and this improved score could have just been from the new RAM.
Just a few days later, I can only get 4300+ on Cinebench, so now I'm starting to think MX-4 is just not a good paste for laptops/direct die applications, or I did a really bad job with the re-paste.
How do these scores and temperatures compare to everyone else?
Have you re-pasted? If so, which paste did you use?

How is the SYY-157 holding up? I got similar results with Thermalright TFX but it pumps out after only a couple days and then thermals are horrible... I'm really looking into trying SYY 157. If that fails I'm going to have to resort to some thermal pads... Having a really tough time with the pumpout issue on these laptops.
