Hi, I have a T61 with T7300 / 1G RAM / 1G Turbo Memory. I decided to add either a 1G or 2G RAM to make it run smoother. What "brand" of RAM will fit into T61? Is there any dos and don'ts? Appreciated if any expert here to share with his experience.

I just went with Crucial. Very good price (maybe at worst a couple bucks more than everyone else) and I've never heard anyone complain about compatibility.

crucual, mushkin, corsair, hynix, kingston, samsung are all great.

I personally use crucial, but you can't go wrong with any of these brands because most of them use the same chips.

    Any ram that is 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) should work fine.

I just came back from Fry's this morning with a $24.99 Crucial 1GB. It's online now here, after $20 rebate.

I got a 2GB Patriot from newegg.com for $100 after rebates. T61 has been running great so far.

LoeGlass, just make sure that your system has only 1gig stick installed not 2*512mg stick before order.

Thank you ALL for the valuable info. My T61 has 1 X 1G so I tend to get a 2G Ram for it.

However, just curious to know, would it be a big different between the total 2G or 3G RAM if my work involves a slight use of Photoshop CS ?
