Thanks for sharing the report with us!

From the report, I get the impression that the screen is quite dim if you turn brightness control below 50%, and the black level rises significantly (i.e., black becomes much less deep) when you turn brightness control above the minimum setting. As a result, the displayed image looks washed out. Does that corresponds to your own experience?

FWIW, here is the (much less detailed) report for the screen on my X30, which is also on for about 14-15 hours a day for the past 5 years. Brightness is set to 5/8.

    Code:
    Uncalibrated response:
    Black level = 0.26 cd/m^2
    White level = 37.96 cd/m^2
    Aprox. gamma = 2.76
    Contrast ratio = 147:1
    White chromaticity coordinates 0.3371, 0.3648
White Correlated Color Temperature = 5331K, DE to locus = 11.7
White Correlated Daylight Temperature = 5334K, DE to locus = 8.7
White Visual Color Temperature = 5034K, DE to locus = 11.4
White Visual Daylight Temperature = 5138K, DE to locus = 8.4
Effective LUT entry depth seems to be 7 bits

    Current calibration response:
    Black level = 0.26 cd/m^2
    White level = 26.17 cd/m^2
    Aprox. gamma = 1.95
    Contrast ratio = 101:1
    White chromaticity coordinates 0.3101, 0.3270
White Correlated Color Temperature = 6664K, DE to locus = 5.0
White Correlated Daylight Temperature = 6664K, DE to locus = 0.5
White Visual Color Temperature = 6475K, DE to locus = 4.7
White Visual Daylight Temperature = 6648K, DE to locus = 0.4

I'm not sure on the 400s, but on my T400 with the 900x1440 screen, I was shocked by how bad black level is. Contrast and black level are many times worse than my T61p. I never use the T400 screen for color-critical work. At home it is always plugged into a Dell 2407 through DVI on the dock. On the run, I don't care nearly as much about screen quality.

It does surprise me however, about how crummy of screens Lenovo is putting in their top-end business computers.

So, is the T410s & new LED screens worse than the 14" T61 CCFL LCD I have? That would be disappointing - my T61 LCD is passable, but much worse, I don't think I could deal with.
